Dor 1984:272, footnote [ref. 29757] incorrectly cited this name as preoccupied by Achirus bilineatus Lacepède 1802. Kottelat (2013:763 [ref. 32887]) determined that bilineata Bloch, "Cynoglossus bilineatus" and Paraplagusia blochii (replacement name) refer to the same organism; and, to avoid tautonymy, he renamed Paraplagusia bilineata as P. bleekeri. Not an independent species description, but an unneeded replacement name for Pleuronectes bilineatus Bloch 1787 (see Kottelat 2013:765 [ref. 32887]).
