Abth.); ref. 4225] Amazon River at Tefé, Brazil. Syntypes: (several) not yet found at NMW. On p. 99 of separate. Apparently the same as Pirinampus agassizii Streindachner 1876 [or 1877?]. Possibly Ichthyologische Beiträge IV was the first description (the species was later returned to Pimelodus ?), but exact publication dates are needed. •Valid as Perugia agassizii (Steindachner 1876) -- (Ortega & Vari 1986:14 [ref. 9708]). •Synonym of Pinirampus pirinampu (Spix & Agassiz 1829) -- (Burgess 1989:275 [ref. 12860], Chang & Ortega 1995:7 [ref. 24302] with question, Grant 2021:97 [ref. 38702]). Current status: Synonym of Pinirampus pirinampu (Spix & Agassiz 1829). Pimelodidae. Habitat: freshwater.
