Type catalog: Böhlke 1953:26 [ref. 12291], Ibarra & Stewart 1987:64 [ref. 12367]. •Valid as Hemigrammopetersius barnardi (Herre 1936) -- (Paugy 1984:168 [ref. 6183], Skelton 1993:205 [ref. 24071], Skelton 2001:205 [ref. 27406], Snoeks 2004:21 [ref. 28111]). •Valid as Rhabdalestes barnardi (Herre 1936). Current status: Valid as Rhabdalestes barnardi (Herre 1936). Alestidae. Distribution: Southeastern Africa. Habitat: freshwater.
