Perhaps proposed as a genus and not a subgenus based on style of key. Described without species, "...founded on two South American species described by Jenyns." First addition of species and type designation not researched. •Synonym of Hypsoblennius Gill 1861 -- (Bath 1977:186 [ref. 208]). Current status: Synonym of Hypsoblennius Gill 1861.
