Appeared first in Hoedeman 1951:7 [ref. 2178] as a subgenus of Alestopetersius but not available; three included species but no type established (Art. 13.3). Furthermore, a line was missing in the key on p. 7. From BB. on, all subgenera were intended as belonging to the genus Phenacogrammus. Unfortunately, a line was missing in the key on p. 7. From BB. on, all subgenera were intended as belonging to the genus Phenacogrammus.
