Current status: Valid as Phenagoniates macrolepis (Meek & Hildebrand 1913). Characidae: Aphyocharacinae. Distribution: Chucunaque and Atrato rivers and Lake Maracaibo basin: Colombia, Panama and Venezuela. Habitat: freshwater.
