Current status: Valid as Urophycis floridana (Bean & Dresel 1884). Phycidae. Distribution: Western Atlantic: Cape Hatteras (North Carolina) south to Florida (U.S.A.), including northern and western Gulf of Mexico. IUCN (2017): Least Concern. Habitat: marine.
