Objectively invalid; preoccupied by Polynemus polydactylus Vahl 1798. •Synonym of Polynemus multifilis Temminck & Schlegel 1843 -- (Motomura & van Oijen 2003:396 [ref. 27209], Motomura 2004:10 [ref. 27601]). 1°Homonym. Current status: Synonym of Polynemus multifilis Temminck & Schlegel 1843. Polynemidae. Habitat: freshwater, brackish.

quatordecimfilis, Polynemus Pel [H. S.] 1851:10 [Bijdragen tot de Dierkunde v. 1; ref. 18526] Near Banjarmasin, Kalimantan, Indonesia ["littoribus meridionalibus insulae Borneo"]. Holotype (unique): RMNH 436. Often misspelled as quatuordecimalis or quaterdecimfilis -- see Motomura 2004:10 [ref. 27601]. •Synonym of Polynemus multifilis Temminck & Schlegel 1843 -- (Roberts 1989:166 [ref. 6439] as quaterdecimfilis, Motomura & van Oijen 2003:396 [ref. 27209], Motomura 2004:10 [ref. 27601], Motomura 2004:91 [ref. 27970], Kottelat 2013:356 [ref. 32989]).
