Paratypes: MCZ 35369 (1), USNM 119204 (1). •Synonym of Prolabeops melanhypoptera [sic] (Pellegrin 1928) -- (Lévêque & Daget 1984:331 [ref. 6186]). Current status: Synonym of Prolabeops melanhypopterus (Pellegrin 1928). Cyprinidae: Smiliogastrinae. Habitat: freshwater.
