Current status: Valid as Tachysurus brevianalis (Regan 1908). Bagridae. Distribution: East Asia: Taiwan. Habitat: freshwater.

Paralectotypes: CAS-SU 23124 (3), 23128 (2). Type catalog: Henn 1928:75 [ref. 12305], Ibarra & Stewart 1987:70 [ref. 12367], Ferraris 2007:102 [ref. 29155], Ho & Shao 2011:34 [ref. 31432]. Technically, the described specimen was designated as the lectotype by Eschmeyer 1998:1646 [ref. 23416]; syntypes originally because a second locality was listed. •Valid as Pseudobagrus taiwanensis Oshima 1919 -- (Burgess 1989:69 [ref. 12860], Mo 1991:135 [ref. 19952], Zhu 1995:146 [ref. 25213], Zheng in Chu et al. 1999:55 [ref. 24534], Ferraris 2007:102 [ref. 29155]). •Valid as Pseudobagrus brevianalis Regan 1908 subspecies taiwanensis Oshima 1919 -- (Ho & Shao 2011:34 [ref. 31432]). •In Tachysurus -- (see Bogutskaya et al. 2008:340 [ref. 30085]). •Valid as Tachysurus taiwanensis (Oshima 1919) -- (Shao & Zhang 2022:Table 4 [ref. 39199]).
