Holotype (unique): RMNH 687. •Valid as Pseudotolithus epipercus (Bleeker 1863) -- (Chao & Trewavas 1990:818 [ref. 18934], Vreven & Snoeks 2007:437 [ref. 30078], Chao in Carpenter & De Angelis 2016:2645 [ref. 34618], Reiner 2019:222 [ref. 38139], Parenti 2020:47 [ref. 37439], Fermon et al. 2022:283 [ref. 39448]). Current status: Valid as Pseudotolithus epipercus (Bleeker 1863). Sciaenidae. Distribution: Eastern Atlantic: Guinea-Bissau south to southern Angola, including São Tomé and Principe. Habitat: freshwater, brackish, marine.

Holotype (unique): BMNH 1866.6.26.7. •Synonym of Pseudotolithus epipercus (Bleeker 1863) -- (Chao & Trewavas 1990:818 [ref. 18934], Parenti 2020:47 [ref. 37439]). Current status: Synonym of Pseudotolithus epipercus (Bleeker 1863). Sciaenidae. Habitat: freshwater, brackish, marine.
