Current status: Valid as Pteragogus aurigarius (Richardson 1845). Labridae. Distribution: Western Pacific: northern East China Sea to Korea, Japan and Ogasawara Islands (Japan), including southern Sea of Japan. Habitat: marine.

Schl.--Hab. Japonia." •Synonym of Pteragogus aurigarius (Richardson 1845) -- (Parenti & Randall 2000:38 [ref. 24943], Kuiter 2010:160 [ref. 35285]). Current status: Synonym of Pteragogus aurigarius (Richardson 1845). Labridae. Habitat: marine.
