Holotype: IZA 8152. Paratypes: ISBB 3354 (3), IZA 8153 (3). Objectively invalid; preoccupied by Puntius punctatus Day 1865. •In the synonymy of Puntius kuchingensis Herre 1940 -- (Kottelat & Widjanarti 2005:154 [ref. 28284]). •Synonym of Barbodes kuchingensis (Herre 1940) -- (Kottelat 2013:78 [ref. 32989]). 1°Homonym. Current status: Synonym of Barbodes kuchingensis (Herre 1940). Cyprinidae: Smiliogastrinae. Habitat: freshwater.
