Ishiyama non-types (1958 publ.): MCZ 40287 (1), 40289 (1), 40291 (1). Described first from an egg case as above, from adults as Raja (Okamejei) macrophthalma in Ishiyama 1958:358 [ref. 2308]. Technically, the types appear to be the 2 eggcases described in 1950. •Valid as Raja macrophthalma Ishiyama 1950 -- (Nakaya in Masuda et al. 1984:13 [ref. 6441], Okamura & Machida 1986:21 [ref. 22278]). •Synonym of Raja meerdervoortii Bleeker 1860 -- (Ishihara 1987:271 [ref. 6264]). •Synonym of Okamejei meerdervoortii (Bleeker 1860) -- (Dyldin 2015:72 [ref. 34524]). Current status: Synonym of Okamejei meerdervoortii (Bleeker 1860). Rajidae. Habitat: marine.
