Correct spelling of genus is Opsariichthys. •Valid as Opsariichthys hieni Nguyen 1987 -- (Nguyen & Nguyen 2000:12 [ref. 26614], Chen et al. 2009;175 [ref. 30298] as heini). •Possible a Rasbora -- (Huynh & Chen 2014:143 [ref. 33158]). •Questionably a synonym of Rasbora steineri Nichols & Pope 1927 -- (Kottelat 2013:155 [ref. 32989]). Current status: Uncertain as Opsariichthys hieni Nguyen 1987. Xenocyprididae. Distribution: Vietnam (if valid). Habitat: freshwater.

Paratypes: (9) USNM 94885 (2). •Synonym of Rasbora volzii Popta 1905, but a valid subspecies as described -- (Yang & Hwang 1964:36 [ref. 13497], Ye & Song in Pan et al. 1991:68 [ref. 23876] as volzi, Zhu 1995:24 [ref. 25213] as volzi). •Synonym of Rasbora steineri Nichols & Pope 1927 -- (Brittan 1954:47 [ref. 646], Zheng et al. 1989:73 [ref. 21202], Chen & Chu in Chen et al. 1998:34 [ref. 23878], Kottelat 2013:155 [ref. 32989], Zhang et al. 2016:51 [ref. 34477]).
