Paralectotypes: MNHL 4200-0257 (6). On p. 142 of reprint in Chevey 1929 [ref. 16215]. Original as paviana but named for Mr. Pavié; emended by Chevey 1932:12 [ref. 23060] to paviei. taeniata, Rasbora Ahl [E.] 1922:295 [1] [Blätter für Aquarien- und Terrarienkunde v. 33 (no. 17); ref. 19926] Sumatra, Indonesia (?). Holotype (unique): ZMB 20646 (poor condition). On p. 1 of separate. Also described as new in Ahl 1923:181 [ref. 15393] and Ahl in Schreitmüller 1926:113, fig. [ref. 36113]. Types mentioned: Paepke 1995:91 [ref. 21847]. Objectively invalid; preoccupied by Rasbora sumatrana var. taeniata Vaillant 1894. •Not a cyprinid, tentatively a cyprinodontiform (Kottelat 1991:185 [ref. 13597]). •Incorrectly treated as valid as Rasbora taeniata Ahl 1922 -- (Brittan 1972:167 [ref. 12245], Doi 1997:13 [ref. 22832]). 1°Homonym.
