Current status: Valid as Rhabdoblennius snowi (Fowler 1928). Blenniidae: Salariinae. Distribution: Eastern Indian Ocean, western Pacific: Christmas Island east to Marshall Islands and Gilbert Islands south to Chesterfield Islands and Grande Terre (New Caledonia) and American Samoa. Habitat: marine.

Paratypes: FMNH 17394 (1), CAS-SU 24436 (1). Type catalog: Böhlke 1953:94 [ref. 12291], Ibarra & Stewart 1987:77 [ref. 12367]. Appeared first as name only and spelled walaensis in Herre 1931:14 [ref. 9831]. •In genus Rhabdoblennius -- (Smith-Vaniz & Springer 1971:61 [ref. 4145]). •Valid as Rhabdoblennius walensis (Herre 1935) -- (Springer 2001:3546 [ref. 26290] dated 1931). •Synonym of Rhabdoblennius snowi (Fowler 1928) -- (Bath 2004:12 [ref. 28017]). Current status: Synonym of Rhabdoblennius snowi (Fowler 1928). Blenniidae: Salariinae. Habitat: marine.
