Paratypes: ZUMT 1009 (10). •Synonym of Rhinogobius similis Gill 1859 -- (Okada 1961:659 [ref. 6363]). •Valid as Rhinogobius kurodai (Tanaka 1908) -- (Suzuki et al. 2012:698, 700 [ref. 31734], Takahashi & Okazaki 2017:[3] [ref. 35171], Suzuki et al. 2017:80 [ref. 35202]). Current status: Valid as Rhinogobius kurodai (Tanaka 1908). Oxudercidae: Gobionellinae. Distribution: Japan. Habitat: freshwater.
