No holotype was established; Huber 1992:168 incorrectly designated MCZ 6423 as the holotype; that specimen designated lectotype by Eschmeyer 1998:446. •Valid as Rivulus cylindraceus Poey 1860 -- (Huber 1992:168 [ref. 20639], Lazara 2001:273 [ref. 25711], Costa in Reis et al. 2003:535 [ref. 27061], Costa 2006:139 [ref. 28875], Costa 2011:239 [ref. 31655], Ponce de León et al. 2014:404 [ref. 33593], Rodriguez-Silva 2015:295 [ref. 33779], Faloh-Gandarilla et al. 2016:7 [ref. 35177]). Current status: Valid as Rivulus cylindraceus Poey 1860. Rivulidae: Rivulinae. Distribution: Coastal river basins, Cuba. Habitat: freshwater.

Type catalog: Huber 1992 [ref. 20639]. •Status uncertain -- (Huber 1992:255 [ref. 20639]). •Valid as Rivulus insulaepinorum de la Cruz & Dubitsky 1976 -- (Lee et al. 1983:60 [ref. 22527], Lazara 2001:273 [ref. 25711], Costa in Reis et al. 2003:537 [ref. 27061], Costa 2006:139 [ref. 28875], Costa 2011:239 [ref. 31655]). •Synonym of Rivulus cylindraceus Poey 1860 -- (Ponce de León et al. 2014:404 [ref. 33593], Rodriguez-Silva 2015:295 [ref. 33779], Faloh-Gandarilla et al. 2016:7 [ref. 35177]).
