Appeared first as Scofield in Jordan & Evermann 1896:250 [ref. 2442] without description. •Synonym of Gila bicolor (Girard 1856), but a valid subspecies -- (Gilbert 1998:62 [ref. 23395]). •Synonym of Siphateles bicolor (Girard 1856), but a valid subspecies -- (Scharpf 2005:41 [ref. 28940]).
