tanakae, Chaeturichthys Schmidt [P. Yu.] 1931:135, Fig. 23 [Transactions of the Pacific Committee of the Academy of Sciences of the U.S.S.R. v. 2; ref. 16332] Misaki, Kanaga wa-ken, Japan. Syntypes: ZIN 23172 (2). Named for Dr. Shigeho Tanaka. The spelling wakiyae is acceptable; early workers almost certainly Latinized the name first, and then added an 'e' (Art. 31.1.1) [WNE, 12 Mar. 2012] -- we suggest using tanakae when the species is treated as valid. •Synonym of Sagamia geneionema (Hilgendorf 1879) -- (D. Hoese/H.K. Larson data). Current status: Synonym of Sagamia geneionema (Hilgendorf 1879). Gobiidae: Gobionellinae. Habitat: marine.
