Holotype: USNM 41730. Paratypes: CAS 60531 [ex IU 8250] (2), CAS-SU 512 (2), USNM 41641 (4). Type catalog: Böhlke 1953:15 [ref. 12291]. •Synonym of Oncorhynchus clarkii (Richardson 1836), but a valid subspecies macdonaldi (Jodan & Evermann 1890) as described -- (Behnke 1992:154 [ref. 23385], Fuller et al. 1999:244 [ref. 25838] as clarki, Scharpf 2006:26 [ref. 30386], Page & Burr 2011:406 [ref. 31215], Penaluna et al. 2016:291 [ref. 34726]). •Synonym of Oncorhynchus virginalis (Girard 1856). Current status: Synonym of Oncorhynchus virginalis (Girard 1856). Salmonidae: Salmoninae. Distribution: Twin Lakes, upper Arkansas River system, central Colorado, U.S.A. [subspecies macdonaldi, now extinct]. Habitat: freshwater.
