Current status: Synonym of Johnius dorsalis (Peters 1855). Sciaenidae. Habitat: brackish, marine.

Based on Sciaena sina of Temminck & Schlegel (not Cuvier). •Synonym of Pennahia argentata (Houttuyn 1782) -- (Trewavas 1977:319 [ref. 4459], Parenti 2020:42 [ref. 37439]). Current status: Synonym of Pennahia argentata (Houttuyn 1782). Sciaenidae. Habitat: marine.
