Distribution: Indo-West Pacific: South Africa, East Africa, Seychelles, Comoros, Agalega Islands (Mauritius), western Mascarenes (La Réunion, Mauritius) and Maldives east to Hawaiian Islands (U.S.A.) and Pitcairn Group, north to Kagoshima Prefecture (southern Japan), south to Papua New Guinea, Chesterfield Islands and Loyalty Islands (New Caledonia). Habitat: marine. hassi, Sebastapistes Klausewitz [W.] 1970:72, Fig. 1 [Senckenbergiana Biologica v. 51 (nos 1/2); ref. 7999] Addu Atoll, Maldives Islands, depth 38 meters.
