Current status: Uncertain as Selene spixii (Castelnau 1855). Carangidae: Caranginae. Distribution: Brazil. Habitat: marine.

Unneeded new name for Vomer brownii Cuvier 1816. •Synonym of Selene brownii (Cuvier 1816) -- (Dennis et al. 2004:76 [ref. 31601]). Current status: Synonym of Selene brownii (Cuvier 1816).
