Holotype (unique): USNM 44278. •Valid as Serranus stilbostigma (Jordan & Bollman 1890) -- (Heemstra in Fischer et al. 1995:1577 [ref. 22830], Grove & Lavenberg 1997:333 [ref. 24023], McCosker & Rosenblatt 2010:191 [ref. 30957], Carvalho-Filho & Ferreira 2013:812 [ref. 33030], Iwamoto & Wirtz 2018:36 [ref 36189], Parenti & Randall 2020:127 [ref. 37354]). Current status: Valid as Serranus stilbostigma (Jordan & Bollman 1890). Serranidae. Distribution: Eastern Pacific: Galápagos Islands and Ecuador. Habitat: marine.
