bustamantaei, Lentipes Boulenger [G. A.] (ex Greeff) 1916:46 [Catalogue of the fresh-water fishes of Africa v. 4; ref. 585] São Tomé Island, Rio do Ouro, Gulf of Guinea. Syntypes: BMNH 1914.12.28.3-12 (now 6). Based on Sicydium bustamantei Greeff 1884; name changed to bustamantaei by Boulenger. Boulenger made his description from new specimens, not from Greeff specimens. Lentipes bustamantaei is available. Boulenger used "ae" to replace Greeff's "é". •Valid, but genus may change -- (Nishimoto & Fitzsimons 1986:811 [ref. 6319]). •Synonym of Sicydium bustamantei Greeff 1884 -- (Pezold et al. 2006:972 [ref. 28916], Jenkins et al. 2008:171 [ref. 29883] as bustamantaei, Wirtz et al. 2007:21 [ref. 30263]). •The marine larva of Sicydium bustamantei Greeff 1884 -- (pers. comm. from N. Bailly on Boden, Keith, Busson and Capuli, 25 Feb. 2012). Current status: Synonym of Sicydium bustamantei Greeff 1884. Gobiidae: Sicydiinae. Habitat: freshwater, brackish, marine.
