Chabanaud 1940:90 [ref. 13166] selected a BMNH specimen from Cuba as lectotype of "Solea maculipinnis Günther 1862", but the latter was only a new combination for and misspelling of Monochir maculipennis Agassiz 1831, and the 'lectotype' not part of the syntype series.
