Permanently unavailable, primary homonym of the fossil taxon Sphyraena intermedia Bassani 1889 (see Ballen 2019:400 [ref. 37027]). Described as a "potential" new species, but considered as intentionally established (ICZN Art. 16.1). •Probably as synonym of S. sphyraena or S. viridensis -- (Psomadakis et al. 2012:18 [ref. 33457]). 1°Homonym. Sphyraenidae. Habitat: marine.
