Current status: Valid as Acanthaphritis barbata (Okamura & Kishida 1963). Hemerocoetidae. Distribution: Eastern Indian Ocean, western Pacific: Myanmar; Philippines to Milne Bay and New Ireland (Papua New Guinea), north to southern Korea and southern Japan, south to northern Western Australia.
