Current status: Valid as Stolephorus baweanensis Hardenberg 1933. Engraulidae: Engraulinae. Distribution: Eastern Indian Ocean, western Pacific: India east to western Indonesia, north to Vietnam and southern China. Habitat: brackish, marine.
