Paratypes: (21). •Synonym of Belone notata Poey 1860 -- (Mees 1962:57 [ref. 13277]). •Synonym of Strongylura notata (Poey 1860) -- (authors). •Synonym of Strongylura notata (Poey 1860), but a valid subspecies forsythia Breder 1932 as described -- (Collette 2003:1105 [ref. 26981], Collette 2003:8 [ref. 27306], Collette & Bemis 2019:34 [ref. 37342]). Current status: Synonym of Strongylura notata (Poey 1860). Belonidae. Distribution: Subspecies occurs from the Bahama Islands, southern Florida, and the Gulf of Mexico west to Mobile Bay, Alabama. Habitat: marine.
