Distribution: Red Sea; Indo-West Pacific: KwaZulu-Natal (South Africa), East Africa, Comoros, Seychelles and Mascarenes (Mauritius, Rodrigues) east to Marshall Islands and Fiji and Tonga, north to southern Japan and Ogasawara Islands (Japan), south to Western Australia and New Caledonia. Habitat: marine.
