Originally as rhombo ocellatus. •Valid as Puntius rhomboocellatus Koumans 1940 -- (Roberts 1989:65 [ref. 6439], Kottelat 1992:187 [ref. 16750], Kottelat et al. 1993:44 [ref. 23448], Doi 1997:11 [ref. 22832], Kottelat & Widjanarti 2005:154 [ref. 28284]). •Valid as Systomus rhomboocellatus (Koumans 1940) -- (Tan 2012:285 [ref. 32058]). •Valid as Desmopuntius rhomboocellatus (Koumans 1940) -- (Kottelat 2013:97 [ref. 32989], Ren et al. 2020:[6] [ref. 37805]). Current status: Valid as Desmopuntius rhomboocellatus (Koumans 1940). Cyprinidae: Smiliogastrinae. Distribution: Southeast Asia: Borneo (Kalimantan, Indonesia). Habitat: freshwater.
