Syntypes: ?RMNH 4806 (1 or more of 5). Bleeker's unpublished illustration reproduced in Boeseman 1983:v. 11, Pl. 442, fig. 1B [ref. 12564]. •Valid as Taenioides eruptionis (Bleeker 1849) -- (Larson & Murdy 2001:3594 [ref. 26293], Proudlove 2006:269 [ref. 28992], Kottelat 2013:434 [ref. 32989], Parenti 2021:63 [ref. 38603], Thu & Thao 2023:642 [ref. 40499]). Current status: Valid as Taenioides eruptionis (Bleeker 1849). Oxudercidae: Amblyopinae. Distribution: Eastern Indian Ocean: Java (Indonesia). Habitat: freshwater, brackish, marine.
