Original genus should have been spelled Tetraodon. •Valid as Takifugu chrysops (Hilgendorf 1879) -- (Matsuura in Masuda et al. 1984:364 [ref. 6441], Lindberg et al. 1997:143 [ref. 23547], Nakabo 2000:1421 [ref. 25182], Nakabo 2002:1421 [ref. 26193]). Current status: Valid as Takifugu chrysops (Hilgendorf 1879). Tetraodontidae. Distribution: Western North Pacific. Habitat: marine.
