Type catalog: Böhlke 1953:38 [ref. 12291]. •Valid as Tanakia oryzae (Jordan & Seale 1906) -- (Okada 1961:398 [ref. 6363] as orizae). •Synonym of Tanakia limbata (Temminck & Schlegel 1846) -- (Arai & Akai 1988:201 [ref. 6999]). •Possibly in the genus Acheilognathus -- (Li et al. 2017:83 [ref. 35680]). Current status: Synonym of Tanakia limbata (Temminck & Schlegel 1846). Acheilognathidae. Habitat: freshwater.
