Current status: Valid as Tanichthys albonubes Lin 1932. Tanichthyidae. Distribution: Streams north of Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, China; introduced in Madagascar and Réunion. Habitat: freshwater.

Also appeared as Aphyocypris pooni in Lin 1939 [ref. 12405], but a different species, see Weitzman & Chan 1966:285 [ref. 12406]. •Synonym of Tanichthys albonubes Lin 1932 -- (Weitzman & Chan 1966:285 [ref. 12406], Zheng et al. 1989:69 [ref. 21202], Kottelat 2013:167 [ref. 32989]). •Uncertain as a synonym of Tanichthys albonubes Lin 1932 -- (Jin et al. 2022:16, 24 [ref. 39119]). Nomen Dubium. Current status: Uncertain as Tanichthys albonubes Lin 1932. Tanichthyidae. Habitat: freshwater.
