Based on 'Chétodon tachete' of Liénard 1839:36 [ref. 17536] and Liénard 1840:297 [ref. 30337]; description quoted from Liénard. Objectively invalid; preoccupied by Tetragonopterus maculatus Bleeker (ex Liénard) 1875.
