Also in Bleeker 1852:605 [ref. 334], earliest not established. •Valid as Tetraodon palembangensis Bleeker 1851 -- (Dekkers 1975:104 [ref. 7417], Roberts 1989:188 [ref. 6439], Kottelat et al. 1993:175 [ref. 23448], Ebert 2001:26 [ref. 25494]). •Valid as Monotrete palembangensis (Bleeker 1852) -- (Kottelat & Widjanarti 2005:169 [ref. 28284]). •Valid as Pao palembangensis (Bleeker 1851) -- (Kottelat 2013:480 [ref. 32989], Ng et al. 2019:538 [ref. 36606]). Current status: Valid as Pao palembangensis (Bleeker 1851). Tetraodontidae. Distribution: Southeast Asia: Indochina, Malaya (Malaysia), Indonesia. Habitat: freshwater.

pinguis, Tetraodon Vaillant [L. L.] 1902:38 [Notes from the Leyden Museum v. 24 (note 1); ref. 4490] Mahakam River at Tepu, Borneo. Holotype (?): RMNH 7928. Non-types: MNHN 1891-0213 and 0214 (1, 1). Type catalog: Le Danois 1962:466 [ref. 21440] as 1891-213. •Synonym of Tetraodon palembangensis Bleeker 1852 -- (Dekkers 1975:105 [ref. 7417], Roberts 1989:188 [ref. 6439] but misspelled, Ebert 2001:92 [ref. 25494]). •Synonym of Pao palembangensis (Bleeker 1851) -- (Kottelat 2013:480 [ref. 32989]). Current status: Synonym of Pao palembangensis (Bleeker 1851). Tetraodontidae. Habitat: freshwater.
