Holotype: MHNG 2772.041. Paratypes: CMK. •Synonym of Toxotes chatareus (Hamilton 1822) -- (Girard et al. 2022:[11] [ref. 39879]). Current status: Synonym of Toxotes chatareus (Hamilton 1822). Toxotidae. Distribution: Southeast Asia: Mekong drainage (Vietnam to Laos) [if valid]. Habitat: freshwater.
