Syntypes: ZMB 18872-74 (1, 3, 1). Type catalog: Fricke & Paepke 1992:94 [ref. 20293]. Also appeared in Pappenheim 1912:169, Pls. 9-10 [ref. 14856]. •Valid as Trematomus lepidorhinus (Pappenheim 1911) -- (DeWitt et al. 1990:321 [ref. 21696] but wrongly with a holotype, Eastman & Eakin 2000:15 [ref. 24631], Eastman & Eakin 2021:[3] [ref. 38307], Frédérich et al. 2022:59 [ref. 39239]). •Valid as Pseudotrematomus lepidorhinus (Pappenheim 1911) -- (Miller 1993:204 [ref. 21297], Balushkin 2000:S97 [ref. 29555]). Current status: Valid as Pseudotrematomus lepidorhinus (Pappenheim 1911). Nototheniidae: Trematominae. Distribution: Southern Ocean. Habitat: marine.
