Type catalog: Blanc & Hureau 1968:36 [ref. 20738]. Also appeared in Lesson 1831:214, Poissons Pl. 19 [ref. 2776]. natalensis, Trigla Gilchrist [J. D. F.] & Thompson [W. W.] 1914:76 [Annals of the South African Museum v. 13 (pt 3) (art. 5); ref. 14155] Cape Natal west by north 6.5 miles, South Africa, southwestern Indian Ocean, depth 48 fathoms. Holotype (unique): SAM 11795. Not the same as Lepidotrigla natalensis appearing in the same work (and same page). •Synonym of Trigla kumu Cuvier 1829 -- Smith 1949:383 [ref. 5846]. •Uncertain in genus Chelidonichthys Kaup 1873.
