AMS I.5916 are two syntypes of Tripterygion rufopileum Waite 1904. •Valid as Enneapterygius howensis Fricke 1997 -- (Fricke 1997:568 [ref. 23339], Fricke 2001:4 [ref. 25985], Williams & Fricke 2001:3534 [ref. 26288], Fricke 2002:183 [ref. 29865], Hoese 2006:1521 [ref. 28998], Fricke 2009:39 [ref. 30394], Patzner et al. 2009:445 [ref. 30396], Fricke & Erdmann 2017:22, 24 [ref. 35129], Tashiro & Motomura 2018:[8] 259 [ref. 35918]). Current status: Valid as Enneapterygius howensis Fricke 1997. Tripterygiidae: Tripterygiinae. Distribution: Western Pacific: western Coral Sea (Australia), Lord Howe Island and New Caledonia. Habitat: marine.
