Type catalog: Böhlke 1953:119 [ref. 12291]. •Valid as Mugilogobius kabilia (Herre 1940) -- (Kottelat et al. 1993:146 [ref. 23448]). •Valid as Calamiana kabilia (Herre 1940) -- (Larson 2001:59 [ref. 25522], Larson & Murdy 2001:3600 [ref. 26293]). •Valid as Eugnathogobius kabilia (Herre 1940) -- (Larson 2009:135 [ref. 30125], Huang et al. 2014:146 [ref. 33157], Kottelat 2013:406 [ref. 32989], Taki et al. 2021:466 [ref. 39830], Sreeraj et al. 2023:51 [ref. 40638]). Current status: Valid as Eugnathogobius kabilia (Herre 1940). Oxudercidae: Gobionellinae. Distribution: South Asia and Southeast Asia: Andhra Pradesh (India), Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Thailand, southern Cambodia, Sarawak (Malaysia) and Philippines. Habitat: freshwater.

Paratypes: USNM 119647 (9). Type catalog: Vilasri et al. 2018:67 [ref. 36451]. Larson 2009:135 refers paratypes but not the holotype of rambaiae to Eugnathogobius kabilia (Herre 1940). •Synonym in part of Calamiana kabilia (Herre 1940) -- (Larson 2001:59 [ref. 25522]). •Valid as Mugilogobius rambaiae (Smith 1945) -- (Larson in Randall & Lim 2000:638 [ref. 25122], Larson 2001:170 [ref. 25522], Larson & Murdy 2001:3601 [ref. 26293], Larson et al. 2008:142 [ref. 29532], Kottelat 2013:414 [ref. 32989], Vilasri et al. 2018:67 [ref. 36451], Taki et al. 2021:451 [ref. 39830], Jamaluddin et al. 2022:[7] [ref. 39245]). Current status: Valid as Mugilogobius rambaiae (Smith 1945). Oxudercidae: Gobionellinae. Distribution: Indo-West Pacific: Thailand to Vietnam. Habitat: freshwater, brackish.
