Appeared as chekinensis in main heading but as chekianensis on p. 84 and 95; the latter regarded as correct (named from Chekiang). •Synonym of Vanmanenia stenosoma (Boulenger 1901), but a valid subspecies as described -- (Zhu 1995:130 [ref. 25213]). •Synonym of Vanmanenia stenosoma (Boulenger 1901) -- (Chen & Tang in Yue 2000:452 [ref. 25272], Kottelat 2012:73 [ref. 32367]). •Synonym of Vanmanenia caldwelli (Nichols 1925) and Vanmanenia stenosoma (Boulenger 1901) -- (Zhang et al. 2016:162, 163 [ref. 34477]).
