Holotype (unique): FAKU 1963 (apparently lost). •Valid as Polymetme elongata (Matsubara 1938) -- (Fujii in Masuda et al. 1984:45 [ref. 6441], Machida in Okamura & Kitajima 1984:147, 335 [ref. 8057], Harold 1999:1904 [ref. 24741], Shinohara et al. 2001:297 [ref. 25995], Nakabo 2002:321 [ref. 26001], Im et al. 2023:123 [ref. 40386]). •Valid as Polymetme elongatus (Matsubara 1938) -- (Shinohara et al. 1996:162 [ref. 26605], Shinohara et al. 2005:405 [ref. 28370], Motomura et al. 2015:14 [ref. 34709]). Current status: Valid as Polymetme elongata (Matsubara 1938). Phosichthyidae. Distribution: Northwestern Pacific: Korea and Japan. Habitat: marine.
