Unfortunately, Chabanaud referred to this taxon as a new natio, which can be regarded as infrasubspecific and unavailable; he referred to this taxon as Samaris erythraeus on. p. 56; in footnote 1 on p. 874 it is stated that Chabanaud treated erythraeus as "une espèce indépendante de cristatus... So, we regard erythraeus as a subspecies following Desoutter et al. 2001. Chabanaud referred to the Le type, but Desoutter et al. treated only syntypes.
