crinophila, Discotrema Briggs [J. C.] 1976:340, Figs. 1-4 [Copeia 1976 (no. 2); ref. 640] Between Stuart Island and Yanuca Island, Benga Lagoon, Benga, Fiji Islands (on a crinoid). Holotype: USNM 215329. Paratypes: ANSP 128311 (3), 134364 (1); USF 460-462 (6, 4, 6). Discotrema echinocephala and D. echinopila are each a lapus calami -- see Craig & Randall 2008:70 [ref. 29543]. •Valid as Discotrema crinophila Briggs 1976 -- (Yoshino in Masuda et al. 1984:342 [ref. 6441], Randall et al. 1990:55 [ref. 15987] as echinophila, Lindberg et al. 1997:191 [ref. 23547], Myers 1999:230 [ref. 23965], Hutchins in Randall & Lim 2000:598 [ref. 25122], Nakabo 2000:1123 [ref. 25182], Laboute & Grandperrin 2000:133 [ref. 25191], Hutchins 2001:3548 [ref. 26291], Nakabo 2002:1123 [ref. 26193], Allen & Adrim 2003:26 [ref. 26830], Randall 2005:506 [ref. 28239], Allen & Erdmann 2012:839 [ref. 31980]). •Valid as Discotrema crinophilum Briggs 1976 -- (Craig & Randall 2008:72 [ref. 29543], Fricke 2014:40 [ref. 33595], Fricke et al. 2014:153 [ref. 33932]). Current status: Valid as Discotrema crinophilum Briggs 1976. Gobiesocidae: Diademichthyinae. Distribution: Indo-West Pacific: Indonesia east to Fiji, north to Ryukyu Islands, south to New Caledonia. Habitat: marine.
