Distribution: Indo-West Pacific: eastern Indonesia east to Philippines, Palau, Chuuk (Federated States of Micronesia) and Pitcairn, north to Izu Islands (Japan), south to northern Australia and New Caledonia. Records from eastern Mariana and Marshall Islands apparently based on S. moyeri. Habitat: marine.
